Design Engineer - Hauppauge, NY

Job Title: Design Engineer

Location: Hauppauge, NY

The Design Engineer candidate will require expertise in designing Retail Fixtures, Trade Show booths or Point of Purchase Displays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design experience with retail fixtures, trade show booths and/or point of purchase displays.
  • Proficient in Solid Works, experience with AutoCad, Inventor, and Illustrator would be beneficial.
  • Works closely with account managers, sales executives and production staff.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by remaining consistent with company guidelines.
  • Completes projects in a timely fashion and ability to meet company deadlines.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualification Requirements:

Account Manager – Richmond, VA / Portland, OR / Hauppauge,NY

Job Title: Account Manager

Location: Richmond, VA / Portland, OR / Hauppauge, NY

The Account Manager will provide customer service to new and existing business. This position will oversee all of the service functions from RFQs to ongoing account maintenance and work closely with Sales Managers.

  • Develop cooperative working relations with Sales Managers that results in seamless account coverage.

  • Strong understanding of metal, wood and acrylic manufacturing processes a plus.

  • Take leadership role in all assignments, is able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Experience with vendor procurement processes.

Premier Fixtures, a leading manufacturer and importer of store fixtures, has an immediate opening for an EXPERIENCED Project Manager for our Richmond, Virginia offices.  This position is responsible for complete product, program and/or project specifics for given customers within the company.  These responsibilities will be varied and will include; product and site specific requirement planning, analysis and interpretation of architectural drawing, shop drawings, product and material specifications, and preparation of cost summaries and bill of material.

  • Confirm finished goods are moved to the warehouse.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to successfully communicate with and engage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge with Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP/ERP) systems.

Position Summary:
Responsible ensuring that all team members are working according to Premier safety guidelines. Works closely with the Operations Manager and the production team to meet & exceed customer expectations, minimize costs, and maintain the high quality of Premier Fixtures products.

  • Promote and enforce a clean and safe work environment.
  • Review priority dispatch reports to schedule jobs for production, coordinating material availability, job start dates, and mill capacity.
  • Allocates work to machine operators, managing priorities, and maintaining equipment.
  • Optimizes, implements, and successfully manages production efficiency, quality standards, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinates the flow of materials and jobs through the mill to make optimal use of resources and maximize capacity.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of daily employee labor reporting, review and ensure all operations are completed properly in the system.
  • Evaluates employee performance and motivates to achieve peak productivity.
  • Issue material to jobs using MRP system software (Vantage). Communicate when material substitutions are made, or should be made for efficiency and/or to achieve final product adherence.
  • Collaborates with purchasing to ensure the procurement of raw materials to avoid material shortages.
  • Works directly with the Operations Manager to report inaccuracies and provide corrective action.
  • Partners with Project Managers and interface with Purchasing, Scheduling, and Shipping to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Confers with other supervisors and managers to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments.
  • Responsible for accurately reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
  • Utilizes lean tools and metrics that maximize capacity and resource utilization, shorten lead-time, improve quality and inventory levels.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required; Technical or Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to successfully communicate with and engage cross-functional teams
  • An understanding, if not the ability to program Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD / CAM Mastercam software.
  • Effective communication skills; verbal and written.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Organization and teamwork.
  • Strong computer skills; MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Inventory Control systems.
